J.J. McCarthy sparks Vikings’ 27-24 comeback in NFL debut vs. Bears

Rookie QB J.J. McCarthy returned from a year-long knee injury and led the Vikings to a 27-24 Monday Night Football win over the Bears. After a pick-six put Minnesota down 17-6, he threw two fourth-quarter touchdowns and ran for another. Chicago’s Caleb Williams flashed with two scores, but Kevin O’Connell’s halftime bet on his young quarterback paid off in a loud Soldier Field opener.
